The short answer

Andesite installation cost in Bali depends on area, stone dimensions and thickness, the laying pattern, substrate condition, whether the work is on floors or walls, access and scope boundaries. A labour-only rate cannot be compared directly with a labour-and-material package. Before requesting a price per square metre, align the measurement basis, specification and required result.

1. Floors and walls need different quotation details

For floors, clarify substrate readiness, finished levels, door clearances, drains, steps and water flow for outdoor areas. Separate levelling or repairing the base from laying the stone. If residents or visitors still use the floor, access routes and phased work areas also affect installation planning.

For walls, record height, substrate condition, stone dimensions, corners, openings and access requirements. The installation or fixing system must suit the actual conditions, design and products used. Do not assume that a flooring method transfers directly to a vertical surface. Obtain a technical assessment where the substrate, stone weight, height or fixing requirements are unclear.

2. Break down what the andesite installation price includes

Use this table to align two or more quotations. Items can be combined into a package, but every responsibility still needs a clear answer. A square-metre installation rate is more useful when you know exactly which surfaces are measured and what finished work you will receive.

2. Break down what the andesite installation price includes
ComponentWhat to clarify
Andesite stoneDimensions, thickness, texture, quantity, supplier and purchasing party
Installation labourFloor or wall, pattern, corners, cutting, edges and joints
Substrate preparationCleaning, removal, repairs, levelling and surface readiness
Supporting materialsBedding or fixing materials, joint fillers and agreed additional products
Access and logisticsDelivery, movement within the site, tools, scaffolding, water, power and protection
CompletionCleaning, protection, leftover materials and final inspection

3. Measure the area before discussing a rate

Illustrative floor example: a straight path 10 metres long and 1.2 metres wide has an area of 12 m². Record additional surfaces, steps, edges or drain covers separately. Wall example: 5 metres long × 2.4 metres high gives a gross area of 12 m². If agreed opening deductions total 2 m², the net surface is 10 m².

The stone purchase quantity does not necessarily equal the installed area. Patterns, cutting, irregular shapes and material selection affect how much to order. Ask for any extra allowance to be explained against the actual layout instead of applying one waste percentage to every surface. Also agree how small areas, corners, edges and specialist cuts will be measured in the quotation.

4. Compare labour-only and labour-and-material packages

For labour-only work, record who supplies the stone, installation materials, cutting tools, water, power and material handling. For labour and materials, request the material specification and the limits of substrate preparation. A work total can be built from agreed quantity × the rate for that scope, plus approved separate items. Final pricing requires project information and an assessment of site conditions.

Give the actual Bali address or access point rather than only an area name. Handling distance from the unloading point, stairs, storage space, working hours and occupied areas can affect labour requirements and installation sequence. Access photographs often explain conditions that a close-up of the stone cannot show.

5. Agree a sample and inspection stages before full installation

Prepare a sample area showing texture, laying direction, joint width, edge cuts and the stone selected for the work. Natural stone appearance can vary, so agree the sample that will guide acceptance. For outdoor floors, discuss intended use, water flow and suitable surface requirements before choosing the material.

Installation timing, bedding or fixing materials, cleaning and any protective treatment should follow the relevant specification and product instructions. Coating or sealer is not automatically included and does not replace substrate or drainage repairs. Agree when the work will be inspected, when the area may be used and who will protect it from other trades.

6. BPP project documentation and information for a quotation

At Padma Nabha, BPP's involvement covers foundation works, natural stone/andesite installation for outdoor flooring and civil workforce support. The photographs show flooring installation and material preparation. This documentation helps prospective clients see relevant site work when discussing a flooring installation scope with BPP.

For flooring or wall requirements, share photographs of the substrate and access, dimensions for each surface, the project location, your stone selection if available, preferred pattern, timing and labour-only or labour-and-material preference. Wall installation enquiries are assessed against site conditions and the team's suitability for the defined scope. Clearer information makes quotations easier to compare without overlooking important work.

What to send for a quotation

  • Separate floor areas, walls, steps, edges and specialist details.
  • Specify dimensions, thickness, texture, pattern, joints and material samples.
  • Assess substrate condition, levels or height, access and preparation needs.
  • Identify who supplies stone, supporting materials, tools, handling and cleaning.
  • Agree a sample, inspection stages, work protection and variation rules.

Questions before work starts

  • Does the price cover substrate repairs or installation only?
  • How are cuts, steps, edges and openings measured?
  • Who supplies materials and handles them to the work area?
  • Which sample will guide the final inspection?
